Text: Hey would it be possible at some point to make a VST version of the ProSoloist software synth for macs in addition to the AU version? I guess it would just be a convenience factor; the only application I can currently use to open it is garageband (as an AU) file, and if I could open it with a VST host on the mac I would have some more flexibility. That's all! Thanks for your time, JOn Rizzo
Answer: That's a good suggestion, maybe we'll plan the MAC VST development soon. It mainly depends on how many people could be interested on it. Thank you.

Text: Really nice that someone has done a spinet organ VSTi! But why foldback on the top octave? Please give us the possibility to turn off the foldback for more authentic sound. One more thing : The keyboard range should be limited to 44 notes. With these fixes I will definitely buy the VL-122.
Answer: Hi, Actually the first release of VL-122 had not foldback at all. It's sound was like a toy instrument on the top notes. So we took the decision to implement the foldback as the original instrument. After all the real Hammond L-122 has only 87 tonewheels and the only way to reproduce these notes is using the foldback. If you like to limit the range of the keyboard you can do it by yourself! And it is quite simple: click on the "MIDI" button on the bottom-right of the instrument and you'll access to the midi preferences panel. Now you can adjust the range of the manuals, the semitone transpose, the octave transpose and the midi receive channels. Thank you for your feedback.

Text: Hey guys, what's up. I have a suggestion regarding your site: could you please change the links for release notes so they don't link to archive files, but to .txt instead? The benefit is that .txt can be read right in the browser, in a new tab, while the archive must ALWAYS be downloaded before opening and reading the notes. It's one step too much, in my humble opinion. You have links to PDF manuals direct, they are not zipped or anything. Why not do the same thing for release notes? Even better, you can make a HTML version of release notes, so they can be readable right on the site... Carry on with great work!
Answer: That's a good suggestion! We'll take care of it on next website review. Thanks!

Text: Hello, Have you any idea when the ppc mac verions will be available? Thanks Ian
Answer: Actually it is a bit hard to say. The PPC MAC version is in our plans, but it has a low priority because we're working more intensively on newer platforms. Anyhow as soon as we have more details we'll announce it.

Text: Hello there. Being a huge Genesis fan, I bought the AM ProSoloVst. Simply amazing, the sound of this synthesizer is very well recreated by the vsti. You did a very good job! Now I've got some problems to recreate some of the classic Genesis synth sounds. Can anybody tell me, what presets and touch sensitive controllers were used and active in the solos for "Cinema Show", "Riding the scree" (mainly the first synth sound in this solo), Entangled and how do I get the intro sound for "I know what I like" (which can be heard on the beginning of the track on the Seconds Out album)? If anybody can help, this would be wonderful!
Answer: Hello. It is not easy to answer to your question, because Tony Banks used the pro soloist synthesizer together to many effect processors. It could be very interesting to discover which type of effects are used in the songs you've listed. Maybe other arp users can help us to rebuild the very sounds of Genesis. However the preferred presets of Tony Banks should be Trumpet (Cinema Show), Telstar (Cinema Show and Riding the Scree), Pulsar (Cinema Show) and Fuzz Guitar 1 (I know what I like and In the Cage).

Text: Hi, I have installed the Pro Soloist Component as per the instructions, but when I go to open it in my host, it does not show the keyboard or any switches. Only the outline of the synth is shown. I have an Apple MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard. Is there a known problem here? I also desperately want to use the VL122 also and need to know if I can use some sort of wrapper on a MAC? Thanks for making these keyboards. I used to own the originals of both of these. Mike
Answer: Hello. First of all thank you for your appreciation about our VSTs. The MAC component of the Pro-SoloVst has been developed and tested on Leopard 10.5.4 only. We know there are some problems with newer OS versions and we will fix them sooner or later. In the meanwhile you can try to use windows VST versions on your MAC through the SM Pro Audio VFX software (http://www.smproaudio.com/service/v-machines-software-downloads.html). It is the loader for the SM V-Machine, but it is also a good host/wrapper. And it is free!

Text: Guys, awesome! Haven't expected a Hammond emulation from you. Sounds very nice, and the pricing is fair. I have several more ideas for you: 64-bit versions of your plugins? More and more people are converting to those systems, wouldn't it be nice if you supported this natively? Also, how about a really really good all-in-one Hohner Clavinet/Pianet/Cembalet VST? Do you plan to cover analog synths as well? If yes, I'd like to propose Korg Trident for that ;) Thank you for your magnificent products, and good luck!
Answer: Hello. Yes, I know, the trend is to migrate to more powerful platforms, like 64-bit processors, and sooner or later we should follow this trend. But now we haven't planned that yet. Thank you for your suggestions, lots of people ask for a RMI electra piano too. Our intention is to develop vintage instrumets used mainly by progressive bands of 1970s.

Text: 2 questions guys. Will there ever be an RTAS version available. Also, is it Snow Leopard compatible? Much thanks
Answer: At the memont we haven't planned any RTAS versions in our developments. We have tested our Pro SoloVst on a Mac OS X 10.5.4 (Leopard) only, however we're planning to step ahead to the new OS. BTW you can try to load the demo version on your Mac and verify its compatibility. Thank you.

Text: Hello, my name is Kenneth Manning from Dallas,TX and I'm a Fender Rhodes collector. The ARP Pro Soloist is one of my top favorite vintage synths of all time. I've talked to other software developers about making this plug-in but no interests. Everyday, I get emails from Audio Fanzine and today under product news, I saw the VL-122 plug-in and clicked on the website. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the ARP Pro Soloist plug-in. Thank you very much for creating this. I've been searching for this for a long time. Every time I find a real ARP Pro Soloist on Ebay, I get out bid. I'm going to purchase this next Thursday when I get paid. Do you have any demos of it to hear? I didn't see any on you site. Please let me know and take care. Kenneth
Answer: Thanks for your appreciation. There aren't audio samples for our instruments yet, but we're planning to do something audible for both the instruments. Anyhow you can download the demo version and play it.

Text: You guys rock!!! I played with the L-122 demo for about 5 minutes and bought it right away. If you guys make it it has to be good. I could hear and feel the Genesis sounds instantly. I have other gear but it never sounded/felt right. Thank you, thank you, thank you for another awesome virtual instrument for my Genesis kit. Now... how about the effects pedals Tony used and of course the RMI :) Also it would be great if people could upload/download presets on your site.
Answer: Hello, thank you a lot for your very rewarding feedback. It is a good idea to produce presets and distribute them through the web, we'll analyse its feasibility.

Text: I love the Pro Solovst. Would be great for you guys to have a shot on creating a virtual RMI Electrapiano. That would complete my wishlist to play Genesis and Yes music!
Answer: Hello. Yes, RMI Piano is a good instrument for prog from '70s, and we are funs of Genesis too. But before to start with a new development we should analyse if there is a good business case. BtW there is something new coming out from our side in a few days.... just wait few days... Thanks for the suggestion, we'll keep it in our mind.

Text: Hello! I see from your MIDI implementation spec, that you didn't support sustain pedal. Now, I know that the original didn't use it either, but I find sustain pedal very helpful when playing large jumps, and still wanting to retain the legato feel. Is it possible for you to implement sustain pedal (AND allow note retrigger while the pedal is held, this is important!) in the future versions, with just a simple switch "Sus pedal ON/OFF", with default setting OFF to regain compatibility with older version's patches? Much grateful!
Answer: Thank you for your suggestion, it could be a nice improvement. We'll take it in mind in future release.

I have a macbookpro Intel 2.2Ghz 10.5.7 and Logic studio pro suite, I tried prosoloist demo on it (logic and Main Stage too), but after change presets ( from fuzz gtr to trumpet for example) or switch prosoloist controls, audio output bumps and noises and then don't get any sound, neither I change virtual instruments. Text: Hello, First, without even hearing the instrument, I think it's awesome that someone finally honored this iconic instrument (at least to lovers of early Genesis)! What I'm most curious about is: from my understanding of the original instrument, the keyboard itself was manufactured slightly different from the average synthesizer keyboard. The keys could physically be depressed deeper, and this is why the instrument was capable of such a dynamic range as far as volume swells, vibrato, etc. Was this compensated for in your design? Thanks!, Paul
Answer: Thank you for your appreciation, actually I am a lover of early Genesis too. Yes, the virtual instrument reproduces exactly the same aftertouch effects as the original one, but the quality depends mostly by the dynamyc response of the midi controller. Furthermore, if your controller doesn't have aftertouch, you can control the same effects through the modulation wheel (not in the demo version).
